Tesla is restarting production against Alameda County

Elon Musk just tweeted that Tesla is restarting production against Alameda County rules. In the tweet Elon Musk writes “Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.”

A few minutes later, user @ChillMichelle asked Elon “From what I gather, @Tesla was told they could operate by the state of CA but Alameda County illegally override that decision. @elonmusk can you confirm? People are so quick to jump to conclusions but it’s good to remember there’s usually more behind the scenes.”

Elon replied “Yes, California approved, but an unelected county official illegally override. Also, all other auto companies in the US are approved to resume. Only Tesla has been singled out. This is super messed up!”

This is still a developing story. It will be interesting to see if this would escalate or if Governor Newsom will interfere to calm things down and avoid a standoff.
